Congressman John Raymond Watkins

John Raymond Watkins is a legend in Missouri. After serving in Vietnam, and the Gulf War, John came home and got elected to the U.S. Congress. He was given the nickname "The Missouri Oak" for his steadfast leadership in D.C. He is PawPaw to J.R., who carries his namesake.  He shares a special bond with J.R. unlike the relationship he has with his son Cliff.

AKA - PawPaw & The Missouri Oak

"Legacy isn't what we leave behind, it's what we give to the future."

Cliff's contribution to the 'PromiseLand' narrative is a poignant reflection on the cyclical nature of sacrifice and survival. By embodying the film's core themes of resilience and moral grayness, his character serves as a catalyst for the audience to question their own definitions of home, duty, and the weight of the shadows we cast.
